We have been watching Koruna’s story with excitement since 2016, when the television narrative of the Netflix platform opened before us for the first time, in which the young Alžběta she became Queen of the United Kingdom and dealt with the first major political and personal issues. The creators, headed by British screenwriter and playwright Peter Morgan, author of the successful film with Helen Mirren, among others simply called the Queen (2006). So now we open the last chapter of The Crown, which will end the story with two parts premiering on November 16 and December 14.

“In the first part, Elizabeth Debicki will reprise her role as Princess Diana alongside Dominic West as Prince Charles. Imelda Staunton continues her reign as Queen Elizabeth II,” the creators remind. Along with the first four episodes dealing with the events of Princess Diana’s last vacation, Netflix has also released never-before-seen photos of Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, inspired by photographer Mario Testino’s 1997 Vanity Fair cover. “When I was first asked to take on this photoshoot, I was extremely excited, but admittedly a little nervous. We had to try to find a balance between our own interpretation and still keeping it similar to Testin’s iconic shot with Diana,” said photographer Charlotte Hadden.

The television also aired a new interview with Debicki, in which she says, among other things: “It’s a really unique challenge for the actors to portray those days (Diana’s final moments) because we know where the story is going,” the actress said. Her co-star Khalid Abdalla (Dodi Fayed) adds, “That’s the thing we experience with all tragedies, right? It’s not the end, you know the oneit’s about exploring that tension leading up to it as closely as possible.” – “It’s really a very quick ending in terms of the timeline of the fifth season’s storytelling,” Debicki continues.
“Their relationship lasted six weeks from start to finish! This is one of the things that very often shocks people. We’re kind of exploring it in real time,” Abdalla revealed. “To a large extent, the complexity of that relationship as well. I think there’s also something very adorable, unexpected and surprising about it. We thought it was important to show that they also really naturally liked being together,” added Debicki. Jonathan Pryce (Prince Philip) and Lesley Manville (Princess Margaret), or Salim Daw (Mohamed Al Fayed). Newcomers in the first part of the final series are Rufus Kampa (Prince William) a Fflyn Edwards (princ Harry).
As Netflix also stated, the final season covers events from 1997 to 2005, roughly the period of Tony Blair’s (Bertie Carvel) government. “The first four episodes capture the blossoming of Princess Diana and Dodi’s relationship before they embark on a fateful car journey with world-renowned devastating consequences.” Six December episodes will close everything. “In them, Prince William integrates back into life at Eton after the death of his mother, while the monarchy struggles to bear the weight of public opinion. The Queen celebrates her golden jubilee, reflects on the future of the monarchy, the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new royal fairytale for William and Kate,” the creators add.
