Publika.az informs that the plot is related to the “mirror principle” proposed by the official Yerevan, as well as the claim put forward by the “Aniv” Foundation for the Development and Support of Armenian Studies, “Armenian troops are completely withdrawn from Gorus, and the Azerbaijani army takes full control of Lake Sevan (Goycha)”. .
It is reported that the “mirror principle”, that is, mutual withdrawal of troops, is a plan designed to prevent the Azerbaijani army from losing control of strategic heights on the state border. The “Aniv” fund writes that this plan will result in the transfer of Goyche to the control of Azerbaijan and claims that it is dangerous for Armenia.
It should be noted that these allegations seem to direct the public opinion in Armenia against the authorities: “The main factor that creates fear in Armenia is that the Azerbaijani army has strategic positions in the areas along the border. However, official Baku has repeatedly stated that it is not interested in a new war at the highest level. After that, the main goal of Azerbaijan is to achieve peace through negotiations.”
It is noted that there is a risk of war between Azerbaijan and Armenia, especially the plans of the official Yerevan to start military provocations in order to put the peace agenda in the background and create new conditions should not be excluded: “However, at the moment the peace agenda is in the foreground and everything depends on Armenia, because the official Baku in the near future is at least interested in signing a letter of intent regarding a peace agreement. After the 44-day war, Armenia’s failure to fulfill its obligations, especially its rejection of the Zangezur corridor, made the process difficult. Azerbaijan, which is interested in peace, put forward a proposal to postpone the delimitation of the border in order to speed up the process. Because delimitation is a long-term task, if a peace agreement is negotiated within the framework of delimitation, it will take years to sign the agreement. At the same time, Russia, where the Soviet maps are kept, will join the process, which may result in the disruption of negotiations in a bilateral format.
In the end, it is emphasized that Azerbaijan is proceeding from the scenario of removing the obstacles to the signing of the peace agreement for the sake of the security and future of the region: “Now the ball is in Armenia’s court. So, in order to sign the peace agreement, it should either accept Baku’s rightful demands, i.e. give “unhindered passage” to Nakhchivan and ensure the return of Azerbaijani refugees to their homes, or accept the fate of remaining as a “landlocked country” under the shadow of the Azerbaijani soldier’s weapon.
It should be recalled that the purpose of the Western Azerbaijan Chronicle project is to preserve and popularize the name of our historical and ancient lands, as well as the deportation of Azerbaijanis by the Armenians, toponyms that existed in those territories, but their names have been erased, countless examples of underground and surface material culture – ancient settlements, necropolises, mounds, castle, palace and fortification remains, caravansary, bridges, tomb chests, crossstones, horse and ram statues, temple, church, mosque, pyres and hearths, and conveying to the world community the facts that confirm that the area is a pure Oghuz-Turk settlement.
Also the President Ilham Aliyev Regarding Western Azerbaijan, he said, “The map dating from the beginning of the 20th century once again shows that Western Azerbaijan is the historical land of Azerbaijan, the names of cities and villages are of Azerbaijani origin, and we know very well that the Azerbaijani people have lived in the territory of today’s Armenia throughout history. Now the main task is that the world community also knows about it”, – is the promotion of the tasks arising from the Concept of Return prepared by the West Azerbaijan Community based on his opinion.
