The Foundation for the Defense of the Spanish Nation (DENAES) has called on the Spaniards to demonstrate this Sunday in Madrid against the amnesty, which would mean a general forgiveness of the crimes committed by the separatist coup, and against the coup that is being prepared Pedro Sanchezwhich would constitute a new step towards the total breakdown of coexistence and legality in Spain.
The architect, associate researcher at the Gustavo Bueno Foundation, writer and director of DENAES, Iván Vélez, speaks to LA GACETA hours before the demonstration.
Why does DENAES summon the Spaniards this Sunday in the Plaza de Colón?
Because we understand that the coup d’état perpetrated six years ago by the Generalitat has been revitalized thanks to the short-termism and lack of scruples of the PSOE. From all areas of society we must try to stop the new coup.
How do you assess that the Popular Party has not supported the demonstration?
It is a shame because it is a call that has been extended to every Spaniard who wants to defend his nation in the face of the very serious threats to which it is exposed lately. But the fact that the party leader, Alberto Núñez Feijoo, understands that Carles Puigdemont is a respectable man may explain many things apart from the many concessions that the Popular Party has historically made to Catalan secessionism.
What would an amnesty for the separatist coup mean?
An amnesty would be to agree with the secessionist sects that maintain an image of Spain as a tyrannical state. Agreeing with them would mean endorsing them to strike another blow, something they have already said they will do again.
Some claim that Catalonia is better today than in 2017…
Catalonia is much worse than in 2017 because with the release of the coup plotters from prison (pardon) and the elimination of the crime of sedition, the Government of Pedro Sánchez has been paving the way for coup plotting so that they can do it with greater impunity. Although apparently it may seem that there is more calm, what in reality there is is a coup that is brewing and for which the State has fewer tools to defend itself.
Will we Spaniards see the pro-ETA Arnaldo Otegui as lehendakari and the fugitive Puigdemont again as president of the Generalitat?
Of course, the ideal conditions are being created for them to be so. Because these two declared enemies of the Spanish nation are priority partners and people completely pampered by the PSOE and by the subsidized media atmosphere that lives off of that political party.
Do you think that Sánchez will carry out his investiture or that we will go to new general elections?
We cannot know because Sánchez has made the change of opinion his flag and it is impossible to know. From DENAES and from all the entities and associations that have joined the demonstration we will do everything possible to prevent the investiture, appealing, of course, to the responsibility of all Spaniards.
