“I am looking for peace… Today we are asking for amnesty from 513 deputies and 81 senators so that justice can be done in our Brazil,” Bolsonaro said, calling for the release of those imprisoned in the coup case.

Supporters of the politician, who in 2022 they protested against the results of the presidential elections in 2023. On January 8, in the capital of Brazil, they occupied the Congress building, invaded the territory of the Planaltu Palace, the presidential residence, as well as the Supreme Court building.

Only in the evening did the police manage to free the government buildings from the protesters, which had been looted. The law enforcement officers arrested around 2000 people.
