Khulna Tigers was hoping to do well in the last match even though the bye was confirmed. But Enamul Haque Bijay’s team failed to do that. Sylhet Strikers ended the BPL by defeating Khulna in the last match of the league stage. Mohammad Mithun’s team defeated Enamul’s team by 6 wickets in this match.
Khulna scored 128 runs for 8 wickets after losing the toss at the Shere Bangla Cricket Stadium. In response, Sylhet reached the target with 6 wickets and 12 balls remaining.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Yasir Ali Rabbi batted well for Sylhet in pursuit of a small run target. Shanto scored 39 runs off 37 balls. And Yasir played an innings of 46 runs off 43 balls. In the end, captain Mohammad Mithun left the field as a winner after scoring 19 runs off 15 balls.
Earlier, despite playing a great innings of 52 runs from 35 balls by opener Afif Hossain, Khulna could not go far due to the irresponsible batting of the late batsmen. Enamul Haque’s team managed to score 128 runs for 8 wickets.
