Switzerland has exhausted its potential as a mediator in conflict resolution.
Publika.az Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, said this.
Commenting on Bern’s approval of the new foreign policy strategy until 2027, he stressed that the document confirms Switzerland’s blind adherence to the guidelines of the United States and the European Union.
“Against this background, the assurances given by the Swiss side about their commitment to impartiality sound cynical,” Zakharova noted.
A representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry called the adopted strategy “clearly anti-Russian”.
He pointed out that the document criticized by Moscow in September 2023 contained all hostile language against Russia.
“In particular, the Swiss authorities reiterated their conflicting thesis that they are in favor of ensuring security on the European continent “not with Russia, but from it,” Zakharova recalled during a conversation with the head of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
