Chinese news agency Yueniu News recently reported on the case of Xiaoyu, an 18-year-old girl living in Sichuan province. She was so “crazy” with her boyfriend that both of their lives became a nightmare.

The young girl’s disturbing behavior began in her first year of college when Xiaoyu had a relationship with an unnamed guy. When Xiaoyu’s boyfriend came home and saw the scene, he had to call the police and they arrived just as she threatened to jump from the balcony.

Xiaoyu was eventually restrained and then taken to the hospital. Here, she was diagnosed with a personality disorder commonly known as “cerebral love”.

Dr Du Na said people with mild cases can often recover and lead normal lives just by learning to control their emotions, but in severe cases like Xiaoyu’s, help is needed. medical.

Although Dr. Du Na could not pinpoint the exact cause of Xiaoyu’s condition, he said it is often diagnosed in people who grew up without parental love.

Xiaoyu’s story went viral on Chinese social media and sparked a heated debate about mental health and the stigma surrounding the disease.
