The young girl’s disturbing behavior began in her first year of college when Xiaoyu had a relationship with an unnamed guy. According to Du Na – a doctor at the Fourth People’s Hospital in Chengdu, Xiaoyu was unusually obsessed with her boyfriend, always wanting to know his whereabouts and getting mad when he didn’t respond to messages immediately. . This may sound like common controlling behavior towards a lover, but according to Dr. Du Na, Xiaoyu suffers from a rare mental disorder called “cerebral love”.
Dr. Du Na added that one day Xiaoyu called her boyfriend more than 100 times. She became angry when he did not answer the phone, to the point of destroying all the furniture in the shared apartment. When Xiaoyu’s boyfriend came home and saw the scene, he had to call the police and they arrived just as she threatened to jump from the balcony.
Xiaoyu was eventually restrained and then taken to the hospital. Here, she was diagnosed with a personality disorder commonly known as “cerebral love”.
Dr Du Na said people with mild cases can often recover and lead normal lives just by learning to control their emotions, but in severe cases like Xiaoyu’s, help is needed. medical.
Although Dr. Du Na could not pinpoint the exact cause of Xiaoyu’s condition, he said it is often diagnosed in people who grew up without parental love.
