From the perspective of an educator, this lecturer said that the rate of IT students graduating from school with immediate employment is still high. However, in a difficult economic context, many businesses are cutting staff, and the IT staffing market is becoming more and more competitive.
“It’s not simple for newly graduated IT students to get a good job right away, as employers’ demands are increasingly high. Freshers (new graduates) need to have the same knowledge as juniors (people who have just worked for a few years). Being good at foreign languages is also a criterion to help you get extra points”, Mr. Cam said.

Sharing about this story, Dr. Dang Minh Tuan, Director of CMC Institute of Technology Application Research, said that he respects Mr. Jensen Huang’s perspective because it is each person’s own perspective.
According to Dr. Dang Minh Tuan, answering the question “Should children learn to code?” is similar to the question “What’s the point of learning math??”.
“Computers and phones are everywhere, so why do we still need to learn addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division? Similarly, if there are translators, why do people still learn the languages of other peoples? Learning programming is to understand how to perform logic problems and understand the language of computers. This is also a skill that allows its owner to proactively solve simple tasks”, Dr. Dang Minh Tuan commented.
Dr. Dang Minh Tuan said that, in the current context, learning programming is not a mandatory condition. However, if you have programming skills, young people will have certain advantages, although the specific level of advantage will depend on each time.
In the short term, AI has not yet replaced humans, on the contrary, it will support IT workers to work more effectively. Even the powerful application of AI opens up new job opportunities that never existed before.
This is similar to when taxis are introduced, the cyclo riding profession will shrink, but other professions related to repair and supply of materials for new types of vehicles will appear.
To avoid being replaced by AI, IT workers need to equip themselves with skills to exploit AI. They must also understand the operating principles of artificial intelligence, thereby promoting the advantages and limiting the negative aspects that AI brings.
