The trade exchange between China and Russia continues to break records, and reached 134,104 million dollars between January and July of this year, the General Administration of Customs of the Asian giant announced this Tuesday.

According to data published by the Chinese body, trade between the two countries increased by 36.5% compared to the same period last year. Chinese exports to Russia reached the figure of 62,544 million dollars, which represents a growth of 73.4%, while exports of Russian products to China increased by 15.1%, up to 71,559 million dollars.

This July, bilateral trade reached $19,488 million, with China’s exports to Russia slightly exceeding imports by about $1 billion.

The previous year, trade between Moscow and Beijing achieved a new historical milestone by exceeding $185 billion, a record that the leaders of the two countries plan to break in 2023. «It is a new record. “We have reason to believe that the goal of $200 billion, set with President Xi Jinping, will be exceeded, not in 2024, but this year,” said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
