The Bangladesh Safe Food Authority fined a restaurant in Naogaon Tk 1 lakh for keeping rotten food in the fridge with unsanitary environment in the kitchen.

On Thursday (February 22) afternoon, the owner of Panch Hotel and Restaurant was fined during a raid in the Ruby Junction area of ​​the city. The operation was conducted by Bangladesh Safe Food Authority Executive Magistrate Sohel Rana.

According to the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority, during the raid, raw and cooked food were kept together in the same fridge of the restaurant. A lot of unlabeled food products are also seen being stocked. The restaurant’s cooked meat includes cockroaches in fur and spices. All the unhealthy food of the restaurant including stale and rotten food, rotten garlic used in cooking, burnt oil, expired products were seized. Later, in the presence of the owner of the restaurant, a fine of Tk 1 lakh was imposed under the Safe Food Act.

District Food Safety Officer Chinmoy Pramanik said that the hoteliers were asked to write down the date and time of cooking in the case of storing cooked food through various training sessions and seminars. But the owner of that restaurant kept the food in dirty polythene. There is no date in it and keeping all the food in the same fridge. A fine of Rs 1 lakh is imposed for this. Besides, Queen’s Sweets and Pastry Bakery and Hajir Najipur Hotel were warned.

He also said that the food safety laws are very strict and the fines are high. That is why the last two years have been trying to convince. Besides, the restaurants have been regularly monitored. From now on, if a restaurant is found guilty of all these crimes, they will be fined.

In this regard, Sohail Rana told Jago News, we are bringing the restaurant owners who are not listening even after being trained and aware, we are bringing them under the law. In continuation of this, raids were conducted at Panch Hotel and Restaurant today. They were fined one lakh rupees in the raid. The penalty is collected immediately. In the future, such operations will continue in the entire district.
