Road accidents leave two dead and 10 injured

Traffic accidents on different roads claimed the lives of two people, according to a count of the emergencies attended by the Departmental Municipal Firefighters, since the early hours of this Sunday, March 3, 2024.

Likewise, the rescuers treated 10 people who suffered various blows and injuries to their bodies, as a result of the mishaps and some incidents of violence.

The first of the fatal accidents occurred at kilometer 167.5 of the Pacific Highway, where a pedestrian was run over.

The victim died at the scene, reported the rescue forces, who did not provide details of the identity of the deceased.

Meanwhile, a pick-up accident claimed the life of the driver in the Tejería sector, San Andrés Sajcabajá, El Quiché.

Due to the force of the impact, the cargo vehicle ended up with its tires up. Firefighters did not provide details about the victim.

Paramedics treated two injured people as a result of an accident in the village of Pueblo Nuevo, La Blanca, San Marcos.

Emergency personnel took both to the National Hospital of Coatepeque.

Accidents with more injuries

The Departmental Municipal Firefighters reported a collision between a minibus and a car at kilometer 78 of the route to Patzún, Chimaltenango.

Three people were injured in that accident. The firefighters took them all to the General Hospital of Tecpán Guatemala.

In motorcycle accidents, rescuers reported three injuries at kilometer 50 of the Inter-American Highway, Puerta Abajo village, Chimaltenango and in Fray Bartolomé de las Casas, Alta Verapaz.

In another order, two people were injured after being attacked by unknown people. One incident occurred in zone 2 of Chimaltenango and another in Colomba Costa Cuca, Quetzaltenango.

The last case involved an elderly person who was transferred to the National Hospital of Coatepeque.
