Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad chief librarian Dr. Shah Farrukh says that research on Iqbal’s work will continue for the next 100 years.
A large section of the university library is named after the Iqbal Gallery.
Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s letters, calligraphy based on poetry, pictures of his life and paintings are kept in this gallery.
Any citizen can visit the Iqbal Gallery during university hours.

Chief librarian Dr. Shah Farrukh told Independent Urdu that ‘I don’t think that the research on Allama Iqbal can be completed even in the coming century. They are an infinite ocean, the more our new generation tries to know them, the more they will explore and grow.’
Iqbal’s love was radiating from every word and style of Dr. Shah Farrukh.

When Independent Urdu reached him for the coverage of Iqbal Gallery, he said that ‘Iqbal Gallery established in the library of Allama Iqbal Open University was built in September 2021 and all expenses were borne by the university itself.’
According to Dr. Shah Farrukh, there was a primary purpose for building this gallery.
One is that Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad is named after Iqbal and there was nothing famous about him here. Education and research were there, but in order to create movement among the young generation, the establishment of this gallery was necessary so that the youth could know Iqbal.
He said that for this purpose, ‘Iqbal’s letters in the gallery which he wrote to others and the letters which others sent to Iqbal are kept here. Apart from this, there are pictures of his family which have been gifted to the university by Iqbal’s grandson, Muneeb Iqbal.

He said that he has a plan to build a national ideological center in Allama Iqbal Open University and all such people who participated in the ideology of Pakistan will have their photos, their letters, their books in the form of a museum. Or in the case of a gallery, be placed in this center.
Apart from this, a research and publication department should be created. There should be an archive department in that national ideological center so that we can preserve the thoughts of these great personalities of our past for the coming generation.
