Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel participated as the chief guest in the inaugural session of the 35th edition of the event. Cultural personality Ramendu Majumder was the special guest. Amina Ahmed, Executive President of Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sansthan presided over the event. Member of Parliament Kazi Nabil Ahmed, painter MA Taher, cultural activist Mahmud Salim and others were also present at this time.

This year’s Rabindra Sangeet festival has become more lively with the presence of artist Rezwana Chowdhury Banya. He recently received the prestigious ‘Padma Shri’ award from India. For this, the Rabindra Sangeet Shili Sansthan congratulated him with flowers and crest. In his speech, this talented singer said, ‘I am happy to be present at this event. This initiative is undoubtedly commendable, especially on the occasion of Kalim Bhai’s birth centenary. Kalim Bhai is one of the pioneers of Rabindra Sangeet practice in Bangladesh. So it is our duty to know and inform about him. And speaking of Sadi; And no, it is very difficult to accept. Things that we can’t think about, can’t accept as true, we have to leave to time. Time makes it bearable. Sadie’s death is much like that. I left it to time. And I myself was involved in the beginning of the Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sansthan. So Rabindranath is always our great refuge in our joy, pain, peace, crisis. And let me tell you one thing about Kalim Bhai, Kalim Sharafi was one of the organizers of the first group theater ‘Bahurupi’ in this subcontinent. On this day, Sadi Mohammad also has to be remembered. His untimely departure is very painful for us.’

Member of Parliament Kazi Nabil Ahmed said, ‘Rabindranath is wandering in our thoughts in all cases. We grew up listening to his songs and reading his stories. I wish Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sansthan all the success of this event.’

Amina Ahmed, president of Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Artists Association, spoke at the end. He remembered the artist by reciting a poem written by Kaleem Sharafir Bhagan. Then Sadi said about Muhammad, ‘He lived a very simple life. He had no worldly desires. He was a saint in the world of music. There was a time, without her singing, there was no event in our house. The songs of his baritone voice will touch our hearts for ages and move generations to come.’

It includes solo and group performances.

On the third day (May 11) the closing ceremony will begin at 5 pm. It will have solo and group performances by artists of the organization. The entire festival is open to the public.
