This time, Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited other armed and political groups of Palestine, including Hamas, which is directly fighting against Israel, to his country. Moscow has invited these organizations and groups to discuss Israel’s attack on Gaza and various issues in the Middle East.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Putin’s special envoy to the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov said that President Vladimir Putin has invited about a dozen Palestinian political parties, including Hamas. Putin will hold talks with these parties from February 29.

Bogdanov said, we have invited all organizations representing Palestine. I have invited all Palestinian political forces in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and other countries of the Middle East.

According to the Tass report, the invitees include representatives of Hamas, Palestine Islamic Jihad, Fatah and the larger Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

Russia has been increasingly critical of Israel and its Western backers over the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Putin has called for a cease-fire in Gaza and has criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza. Speaking in support of Gaza, Russia’s alliance with Iran has soured Moscow’s relationship with Israel since the start of the Gaza conflict.

Meanwhile, Israel launched an offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah with no plans to protect civilians. US President Joe Biden warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone conversation on Saturday (February 15) about the matter.

On the other hand, US Vice President Kamala Harris met the Israeli President at the Munich Security Conference. In a post on social media, Kamala Harris said that during the conversation with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, he reiterated the commitment of the United States to the return of the hostages held by Hamas and to the security of Israel.
