Kieron Pollard left the Pakistan Super League (PSL) game and attended the pre-wedding function of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s son. The former star cricketer of West Indies will not play in the PSL match on Sunday.
Pollard is playing for Shaan Masood and Shoaib Malik’s Karachi Kings in the ongoing PSL. Today, Pollard’s team has a game against Mohammad Rizwan’s team Multan Sultans. But Karachi will not have him in the squad for this match as the Carrion star has moved to India.
However, Pollard will join the team tomorrow (March 4) after the wedding ceremony. Pollard’s team will play against the Quito Gladiators on March 6.
Pollard played for one of the most successful franchises in the tournament, Mumbai Indians, for 13 years until the IPL-2023 season. After his retirement in 2023 season, Mumbai appointed him as batting coach. On the other hand, Mumbai is owned by Mukesh Ambani. Which is basically why Pollard is obligated to attend Ambani’s son Anant Ambani’s wedding.
Apart from Pollard, many famous stars of India and the world have joined this pre-wedding ceremony. Among the Indians were legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, among others from the national team.
International stars included New Zealand’s Trent Boult, Australia’s Tim David, pop star Rihanna, West Indies stars Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Bravo among others.
Pollard is playing great with the bat in the current season of PSL. The former West Indies star is the highest run scorer of his team Karachi. The 36-year-old star has scored 196 runs in 5 matches so far.
