A fascinating show from the Digital Photography & New Visual Media master class at the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences
St Pölten (OTS) – The Lower Austria Documentation Center for Modern Art in St. Pölten presented by May 4th to June 9th, 2024 the exhibition “IS THIS REAL? Inner Realities & Outer Realities”a fascinating master class show Digital Photography & New Visual Media the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. Under the leadership of Rita Newman and Markus Wagner, the students delve into the tension between augmented reality and artificial intelligence, redefine the boundaries of photography and question the perception of reality.
“IS THIS REAL?” offers insights into photographic positions that move at the interface between authenticity and construction. Inspired by the digital revolution and advanced technologies, the 17 students addressed the question of reality and image in an unconventional way in their final theses. The exhibition encourages reflection on the impact of technology on our visual culture and invites visitors to critically examine their own perception of reality.
Discover how contemporary photography re-explores the boundaries of the so-called real through the lens of live interactive augmented reality and artificial intelligence.
Die Opening takes place on Friday, May 3rd one 6 p.m in the presence of Leopold Kogler (President of the Regional Association of Lower Austrian Art Associations), Matthias Stadler (Mayor of St. Pölten), Rita Newman and Maria Noi (curators) and all artists involved.
