Schiller on Prima, she pointed out that she did not understand what Jurečko was up to came out when setting up the system. “I don’t like that we haven’t seen any data until today,” said the former minister. According to her, we should have waited for a regular report containing the results of the pension system in the Czech Republic.

“Give us data on whether those people live to that age in good health (…) to this day we don’t have such data,” she said from a distance towards Jureček, saying that she should put the documents on the table. “I’m getting really pissed off,” evaluated the alleged absence of information.

According to Niedermayerwho represented his boss Markéta Pekarová Adamová in the debate (TOP 09), which fell ill, the pension system was “absolutely politicized”. Those parameters that make it unsustainable should be removed from politicsmeans

He also criticizes the fact that there is no broader consensus on the nature of changes to the pension system that would go beyond one government period. “It’s trying to get more balanced. I appreciate it very much and at the same time I’m glad that something is happening after years. I don’t know why your government hasn’t decided to do that,” he appreciated the efforts of the current government and took a dig at the previous one.

“I totally agree that changes should be made based on quality numbers,” then nodded at Schiller’s comment. But he added in one breath that the previous government in the system she made ad hoc interventions that did not help him.

It is not a real reform, it was said

Schiller denied that the interventions had a negative effect. “These were the steps to parametrically modify that system,” she argued. According to her, the fact that the system is not working now is more due to the fact that wages are falling.

The ex-minister sees raising the retirement age as the biggest problem. This week, together with other representatives of the ANO movement, he will discuss the changes with President Petr Pavlo.

Schiller emphasized that, in her opinion, this is not a pension reform. “The pension reform should have been done in the days of privatization (…) there will be no more pension reform, there will only be parametric changes,” she stated. Niedermayer agrees with that, even he does not think that a major pension reform is possible now. However, according to him, the reason is, among other things, the high debt, for which the previous ANO government is largely to blame, he said. Schiller denied this.
