Landscape cleaning 2024 in all Vorarlberg communities sets an example against littering
Vienna (OTS) – The launch of this year’s “Clean Environment Needs You!” initiative took place on February 28th at the “vorarlberg museum” in Bregenz. Representing all partners in the Vorarlberg landscape cleaning campaign 2024 were Markus Klement (State Director ORF Vorarlberg), Dornbirn’s Mayor Andrea Kaufmann (President of the Vorarlberg Municipal Association), Daniel Zadra (State Councilor for Environmental and Climate Protection), Wilfried Hopfner (President of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce) and Reinhard Pierer ( Recyclables department manager at Loacker Recycling) present.
Natural spring cleaning from March 23rd to April 27th
The ORF Vorarlberg, together with the Vorarlberg communities and partner companies, invites you to jointly clean up the landscape between March 23rd and April 27th. In order to send a clear message against littering – the throwing away or leaving of waste – numerous volunteers will set out to collect waste carelessly left behind on roadsides and pathsides, in green and leisure areas as well as on bodies of water and then dispose of it correctly dispose. 65 tons of waste, 15,000 helpers
The fact that a lot comes together when cleaning hallways was already demonstrated last year: a total of 65 tons of waste were collected. This negative record is shocking, but at the same time it shows the great commitment of the volunteers:
15,000 helpers set out across Vorarlberg to take a stand against careless littering.
Exhibition in the “vorarlberg museum”
For the first time, selected finds from landscape cleaning find a special place in the “vorarlberg museum” as professionally prepared exhibits. This exclusive intervention, which is embedded in the permanent exhibition “literally Vorarlberg”, focuses on the problem of careless throwing away and encourages visitors to think and initiate positive changes. In his keynote speech at the opening event, cultural scientist Bernhard Tschofen said that an exhibition about waste and rubbish does not just have to do with “garbage”. This also gives “reason to reflect on our relationship to things, to transience and the future and to how we deal with our environment.”
