And: Harald Krassnitzer and Adele Neuhauser are filming a new case “We can’t be caught!”

Vienna (OTS) New situation for the Austro duo: Harald Krassnitzer (in his 57th case) and Adele Neuhauser (in her 33rd case) see things at the latest “Tatort” on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 2 as well as on ORF ON and in the TVthek app – at least partially – from a different perspective than usual, after all, this time the inspector himself is suspected of committing the crime and finds himself behind bars. The duo has to deal with a violent crime in a Viennese nightclub, which not only requires a lot of criminal intelligence, but also revives a dark side of their own past and gets closer to the two of them than they would like. Hubert Kramar, Christina Scherrer and Tanja Raunig as well as Nicole Beutler, Julius Feldmeier, Eidin Seyed Jalali, Jonathan Bella Luto, Daniela Kong, Norman Hacker and Grischka Voss can be seen again in other roles in the Austrian crime thriller “Your Loss”.

Katharina Mückstein is celebrating her “Tatort” directorial debut, who gave a first taste of the crime thriller today, Monday, March 4, 2024, as part of an interview in Vienna’s “Café Prückel”. The script was written by Thomas Christian Eichtinger and Samuel Schultschik, who were also jointly responsible for the Austrian “Tatort – Down”.

“Tatort – Your Loss” is an ORF production, produced by epo-film. Further information about the film is available at presse.>.

Director Katharina Mückstein: “The big emotional theme of the film is the solidarity between the inspectors”

“The big emotional theme of the film is the solidarity between the commissioners, who have a symbiotic relationship. This means: You can cause her suffering by damaging it. The well-being of the other is as important to both of them as their own well-being. For example, when Moritz Eisner is in prison, he cares more about his colleague than about himself. We made this deep friendship the main role. There is no fight over who is more important in the story. “His powerlessness and her dedication make Bibi Fellner the central investigator of the crime,” says director Katharina Mückstein. And further: “Their relationship goes back a long time, all stages have been gone through and all questions about dominance or power have already been dealt with. It’s just that they know each other very well. We definitely didn’t want to tell a story where a woman is so attached to a man that she’s willing to do anything for him. It’s mutual and gender doesn’t play a big role.”

Filming at the Austro “crime scene – we can’t be caught!”

Off-screen, Harald Krassnitzer and Adele Neuhauser are already providing crime thrillers. Since Monday, February 27th, the motto in Vienna and Lower Austria during the filming of the latest Austrian case has been “We can’t be caught!” “Tatort” demonstration in downtown Vienna – a dead person lies on the side of the road, the situation is confusing. The Austro duo find themselves in a situation that can only be described in one word: chaos. The traces are rare and the witnesses’ statements are contradictory. Did an encounter between the young man and counter-demonstrators escalate? Does the origin of the crime lie within the victim’s group? Or do they both have to look for the person or people responsible within their own ranks? In any case, the internal investigations are not exactly helping the company’s popularity among colleagues because of the possible use of disproportionate force. Christina Scherrer, Dominik Warta, Hubert Kramar, Günter Franzmeier, Tilman Tuppy, Julia Windischbauer, Gerald Votava and Julia Edtmeier will be in front of the camera in other roles, probably until the end of March. Rupert Henning, who also worked as director and/or screenwriter on the Austrian “Tatort” films “Grenzfall”, “Schock”, “Virus” and “Krank”, is once again responsible for the direction and script. “Tatort – We can’t be caught!” is an ORF production, produced by Rundfilm, and is expected to be shown on ORF 2 in 2025.

“Crime scene – we can’t be caught”: More about the content

A demonstration took place in downtown Vienna – not for the first time. As is often the case, the police had their hands full trying to prevent riots and disperse the demonstration properly. There are still leaflets fluttering around on the street with the slogan “We can’t be caught!”
And now there is a young man lying there on the side of the road. His head in a pool of blood, the cause of death is still unclear. Moritz Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer) and Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser) come to a “crime scene” that is only inadequately described by the term confusing. Hardly any usable traces, few direct witnesses and a deeply contradictory picture that brings several suspects into focus. Is the perpetrator really impossible to catch this time? Did the police use excessive force, as some have accused them? In any case, crucial bodycam recordings may not be found and the police officers initially stubbornly resist the internal investigation. Was there perhaps a fatal fight, possibly with violent counter-demonstrators? Or maybe the escalated conflicts lie within the group that Jakob Volkmann, the murder victim, joined some time ago. The deeper Moritz and Bibi delve into this case, the more dark the overall impression becomes – and not just when the DSN (State Security and Intelligence Directorate) joins the investigation…

The Austro “crime scene” year 2024

Harald Krassnitzer and Adele Neuhauser are starting the Austro “crime scene” year 2024 with “Dein Loss”. The case “Deine Mutter” (AT “Hurenkind”) has already been filmed and is expected to be on air on ORF 2 in 2024. In addition to “We can’t be caught!”, the filming schedule this year also includes two other “Tatort” films, which will also be shown on ORF 2 in 2025.

“Tatort” for streaming

In addition to the Austrian crime thriller “Dein Loss”, which is available for streaming after broadcast, other “Tatort” films with Harald Krassnitzer and Adele Neuhauser are also available on ORF ON and in the TVthek app.
