The North Korean Government criticized the military aid that the United States decided to provide to Taiwan, maintaining that such assistance (worth $345 million) will bring military tensions in the Asia-Pacific “to another war ignition point.”
The general director for China of the North Korean Foreign Ministry, Maeng Yong Rim, also recalled that Washington plans to allocate military aid to Taipei worth 10 billion dollars in the next five years, as well as give it emergency aid in terms of defense worth 1 billion dollars annually.
“This constitutes a flagrant violation of the one-China principle, to which the United States committed itself to the Chinese Government and people, and of the spirit of the three joint communiqués of the United States and China,” the senior official wrote. in a statement this Thursday, released by KCNA.
