Mostafizur Rahman bowled admirably after returning to the field after one match. After giving only 21 runs in the first three overs, the Bangladeshi bowler of Chennai Super Kings picked up 2 wickets in the last over of the innings. Mahendra Singh Dhoni would have had a third wicket to his name had it not been for Andre Russell’s catch. The left-handed pacer became unintelligible for the opponent with 16 dots more than others in four overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders stopped at 137 runs with the speed of Tushar Deshpande along with Mustafiz and the spin of Ravindra Jadeja. Tushar and Jadeja took three wickets each.

Tushar sent Phil Salt back on the first ball of the innings. Then Sunil Narine and Ankarish Raghuvanshi stormed. Kolkata collected 50 runs for 1 wicket in 5 overs. Jadeja took the ball and changed the scenario. This offspinner dismissed Raghuvanshi (27) and Narine (24) in the same over. Venkatesh Iyer (3) was his victim in the next over.

Kolkata could not turn around when the behavior of the pitch changed dramatically. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored the maximum 34 runs. He lost his wicket to Mustafiz in the last over.

Jadeja said about Mustafiz, who conceded just 12 runs in his first two overs, ‘He has been able to have a very good impact on this wicket. He gave a few good slows. I think he was fantastic.’
