Mr. Hun Sen’s youngest son was elected deputy prime minister of Cambodia

According to Cambodian media, the National Assembly of this country has just appointed Mr. Hun Many, the youngest son of Mr. Hun Sen, as the government’s 11th Deputy Prime Minister.

Khmer Times said that the vote of confidence by the Cambodian National Assembly was conducted based on the request of Prime Minister Hun Manet. Accordingly, Mr. Hun Many was appointed as the 11th Deputy Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia for the 7th term. Voting results showed that Mr. Hun Many received a vote of confidence from 120/120 parliamentarians.

In addition to Mr. Hun Many, officials Thamarong Sry and Pen Vibol in the vote on the morning of February 21 were also appointed to the position of Minister in charge of special duties of the Cambodian Government.

In a speech to Cambodian lawmakers, Prime Minister Hun Manet said the nomination of Mr. Hun Many to the position of Deputy Prime Minister is “necessary to achieve the highest efficiency in government policy”, with The goal is to make Cambodia a high-income country by 2050.

Before being appointed Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Hun Many, 41 years old, held the position of Minister of Cambodian Citizen Services. He is the youngest child of former Prime Minister Hun Sen and younger brother of Prime Minister Hun Manet.
