More than 12,000 mosques are ready for worshipers in the holy city of Mecca during Ramadan. Muslims can pray in 12 thousand 104 mosques in this city of Saudi Arabia. Of these, 460 mosques are located in the center of Mecca.

The branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs located in Makkah has completed the overall preparation of various mosques before Ramadan. The country’s first fast began on Monday (March 11).

Thorough cleaning, carpet cleaning, perfumation and maintenance of mosques and women’s prayer areas have already been completed.

Most people come to perform Umrah during Ramadan. Because of that, many pilgrims arrive at the Grand Mosque of Makkah at this time.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs is responsible for the maintenance of mosques in Saudi Arabia. The concerned authorities have already issued guidelines in this regard. Instead of serving Iftar inside the mosque, it has been asked to organize it outside at a specific place. It will maintain cleanliness inside the mosque.

Besides, the use of cameras inside the mosque has been banned. Many people take pictures or videos with cameras during prayers which disturbs the concentration of prayers.

Besides, imams have been urged not to prolong Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan and to deliver sermons on the various rules of fasting for the benefit of the fasting people.
