New construction of the Philharmonic Hall in the Holešovice district of Prague by the DELTA-JEG-FEM (DELTA-JE Group-Fetters Management) consortium
Vienna (OTS) – Planning for the construction of one of Prague’s most outstanding lighthouse projects and one of the most important cultural buildings in the last 140 years, the Vltava Philharmonic Hall, has started and is already in full swing. The actual start of construction is scheduled for 2027 and completion is planned for 2032.
The international DELTA Group is responsible for cross-border project management with the DELTA Group ČR team and is significantly involved in all planning processes. The project is led by a DELTA-JEG-FEM consortium (DELTA-JE Group-Fetters Management consortium). The Danish architecture firm BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group – won the architectural competition as the winning project from 19 international architectural studies submitted, primarily because of the inclusion of the Vltava and the connection of the “cultural building” with an attractive recreational area for residents and visitors.
The approach to public space is exceptional: the concept is not to hermetically seal off the building as a concert hall, but rather to create a maximally inviting work of art with opening and access on all levels to the inside and outside. From the outdoor terraces, it offers both locals and visitors a unique panoramic view of Prague.
The Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra will enhance the building’s space with additional cultural offerings and events and make it accessible to the public – the music department of the city library, an education center, restaurants and other business premises will also be integrated here. Three halls are planned for the new Prague landmark: a concert hall for 1,800 people, a smaller one for 500 spectators and a multifunctional hall for 700 people interested in culture.
The international DELTA Group has been represented in the Czech Republic for more than 30 years with 2 locations in Prague and Trebic.
