Ministry of Production seeks to formalize 50,000 mypes

To promote the formalization of micro and small businesses (mypes), the Ministry of Production (Produce) will perform 70,000 business advice sessions through National Your Company Program.

The minister of the sector, Sergio Gonzalezstated that the goal is to formalize 50,000 micro and small businesses for the purposes of 2024. González mentioned that in the first quarter of the year they have already been formalized 11,500 business’ units.

González stated that the priority areas in the sector of micro and small businesses and industry are access to the market, formalization and competitiveness of Mypes, innovation, technology and sustainability, financing, as well as strengthening the manufacturing industry.

Also, during his presentation before the Production, Micro and Small Business and Cooperatives Commission of the Congress of the Republic, the leader of Produce suggested promoting the advancement of National Plan for Artisanal Fishing Infrastructure.

“For this year there is 60 million soles for the maintenance and improvement of artisanal fishing landings (DPA) throughout the country. Likewise, work will be done to strengthen the administration management of these infrastructures in charge of the artisanal fishing unions,” he indicated.

Regarding the initiative to promote the consumption of fish through the National Eat Fish Program, González explained that more than 7,000 promotional fairs throughout the country to stimulate the sale of hydrobiological products obtained from artisanal fishing and aquaculture, positively impacting more than 2.4 million homes.

“In addition, the issuance of impact standards for fishing and aquaculture will be prioritized, and The National Fisheries Health Organization (Sanipes) will be strengthened for greater reliability and competitiveness of this health authority,” he said.

The Minister of Production added that the formalization of the artisanal fishermen and announced the completion of the Second National Census of Artisanal Fishing next year.

Lastly, González pointed out that they will focus on strengthening the Institute of the Sea of ​​Peru (Imarpe) to gradually improve the observation system.

The Ministry of Production will promote access to financing for micro, small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) through the negotiation of purchase and/or service orders issued by public entities.

“It is projected to benefit, in the first year of negotiation, more than 18,000 MSMEs, with the purpose that purchase and service orders issued by the State are financed by financial institutions to obtain liquidity,” said González.
