Canada ; An Indian couple and their grandson were among the four people who lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Whitby on Monday. The Consulate General of India, Toronto expresses its deep condolences on the tragic loss of Manivannan, Mahalakshmi and their infant grandson who were involved in a fatal accident on Highway 401 in Whitby.

According to Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit, four people, including a three-month-old baby, lost their lives in the collision that occurred on Monday night. The victims were traveling in a Nissan Sentra at the time of the accident. Along with the couple, their grandson also died tragically on the spot. The baby’s parents, both residents of Ajax, survived the accident but suffered injuries. The 33-year-old father and 27-year-old mother are both admitted to the hospital where the mother is undergoing treatment for serious injuries.
The cargo van involved in the collision also became a casualty. The 21-year-old male driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene, while his 38-year-old male passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries. Authorities have begun a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
