Luque Municipal Board formed an emergency commission after yesterday’s tragedy

The municipal councilor of Luque, Enrique Quintana, said on 1020 AM that, given the tragedy that occurred yesterday, when two women were swept away by the rapids and found dead, it was decided to form a multi-sector commission in order to provide answers to the citizens.

While Mayor Carlos Echeverría cannot be found anywhere, the Luque Municipal Board formed a Crisis and Emergency Commission, made up of councilors, advisors, directors of the Municipality and the local Health Council. The objective is to coordinate assistance to families affected by the storm, and seek tasks that allow the execution of works and improvements to water channels.

The crisis committee must “coordinate emergency operations, provide support to the families of the victims and prevent fatal consequences in future storms. The committee will be made up of representatives of the Municipal Board, the chief of staff Tanya Bavera and directors of different strategic areas,” explained the councilor.
