Julia Garner to star opposite Josh Brolin in Zack Krieger’s horror thriller ‘Weapons’

Washington: ‘Ozark’ fame Julia Garner is all set to enthrall the audience once again in the upcoming New Line horror thriller, ‘Weapons’. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed this news. Directed by Zach Krieger, the film marks the reunion of the creative team behind the acclaimed horror film ‘Barbarian’. Garner’s star power continues to rise as she lands a lead role opposite veteran actor Josh Brolin. ‘Weapons’ is set to begin production in Atlanta in mid-May, promising an atmospheric and chilling experience for horror enthusiasts.

Described as an interconnected, multistory horror epic, ‘Weapons’ is expected to offer a gripping story reminiscent of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia. Krieger, who wrote the top-secret script, aims to create a sense of dread and suspense that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project also reunites the producing team behind ‘Barbarian,’ with Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Boulderlight Pictures’ JD Lifshitz and Rafael Margules joining forces once again. Vertigo’s Miri Yoon will also serve as a producer, ensuring that the film maintains the same level of quality and intensity as its predecessor. In addition to ‘Weapons,’ Garner is currently involved in other high-profile projects, including Paramount’s psychological thriller ‘Appartment 7A’ and Blumhouse/Universal’s ‘Wolf Man,’ directed by Leigh Whannell in New Zealand. Additionally, Garner recently made headlines with her casting as the Silver Surfer in Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ alongside Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Barrach.
