A case has been filed in Kotalipara of Gopalganj regarding the death of a pregnant woman named Afroza Begum (20) due to ‘wrong treatment’. Police have arrested three people including a doctor in this case.
On Friday (March 15), Afroza Begum’s mother, Monica Begum, became the plaintiff, Dr. Kotalipara Upazila Health Center Medical Officer. Prabhas Mondal, owner of United Hospital and Diagnostic Center Dr. Zahid Hossain Rintu filed a case in Kotalipara police station accusing Afroza Begum’s husband Zahid Khan, mother-in-law Ranu Begum and Debar Shamim Khan. Dr. in this case. The police arrested three people including Prabash Mondal and sent them to jail through the court.
Earlier on Thursday (March 14) the death of obstetrician Afroza Begum took place at the United Hospital and Diagnostic Center of Narayan Khana Bazar in Shuagram Union of Upazila. Later the mobile court sealed the hospital.
Afroja Begum is the wife of Zahidul Islam Khan of Kalarbari village in Shuagram union of upazila.
Monika Begum, mother of maternity Afroza Begum said, ‘My daughter was admitted to this clinic on Thursday morning by the in-laws. At noon, the doctors took him to the operation room. After about two hours they informed that my daughter Afroza and her unborn child died. My daughter is not dead. The doctors killed her and her child.’
Kotalipara Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Faiz Ahmed, the investigating officer of the case, said that the three arrested have been sent to jail through the court. Efforts are on to arrest the rest of the accused.
