In 2024, labor formalization begins at the Rosario Pumarejo de López Hospital

At the Rosario Pumarejo de López Hospital, in Valledupar, a total of 844 workers are expected to be covered by the labor formalization process, 311 in 2024 through direct links with the hospital.

This was announced by the National Superintendent of Health, Ulahí Beltrán López, in his most recent visit to the health center, where he also highlighted the allocation of resources recently made by the National Government through the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for $11.9 billion so that This hospital develops the payment of debts with the workers, most of which come from before the forced intervention process.

Supersalud visited the expanded surgery service, which from now on will provide the department with 25 new beds in addition to the acquisition of new biomedical equipment that will strengthen this service unit.

“I am pleased to be able to demonstrate these great advances that contribute to the transformation of the health system as proposed by the Government of Change, today we work to strengthen the public hospital network that is heritage. This healthcare center has been reporting optimal results in its operation, as a result of the monitoring that has been carried out and the example of good management that today results in better services for the users of this region,” said the Superintendent.

During the tour of the inaugurated fifth floor wing of the hospital, the superintendent verified the project that seeks to strengthen the guarantees of job stability and formalization of employment that will be implemented starting in February 2024, with a first stage of the three phases of labor formalization, through the direct involvement of 135 professionals, who today provide services in the maternal-perinatal area.

IMPROVEMENT IN SERVICE DELIVERY

After the socialization of the labor formalization project and its impact, the Superintendent indicated that the transformation of Rosario Pumarejo is advancing with the remodeling of the fifth floor, which puts 25 new beds into service with renewed infrastructure for the comfort of patients.

The remodeling includes improvements in lighting, curtains, air conditioning and computer equipment for monitoring clinical history recording.

Likewise, Beltrán López highlighted the investment of its own resources of $583 million for the acquisition of biomedical equipment that will strengthen the hospital’s surgery unit and put the sixth operating room into operation.
“Supersalud will continue to act as a guarantor and that is why we will continue to monitor this process so that the healthcare center is strengthened and continues working to be a benchmark for good hospital practices,” he pointed out.
