If this name had been there before, I might not have done this drama, but the audience is loving the drama.’
What will you say about the fact that dramas are not being made on serious topics nowadays?
In response to this question, he said that if dramas are made on real topics, people will be more interested because these issues are related to their real life. Saas-bahu is also a topic, it is not wrong to make dramas on it, but more real topics should also be looked at.
PTV’s dramas were close to reality and therefore popular among the masses. They didn’t have the make-up and artificiality of soaps.’
He further said that there are people of all ages in the society and programs should be made keeping in mind all ages.
How to develop Pakistan film industry?
Regarding Pakistan’s film industry, he said that at one time, films had become common, which led to its decline.
‘My personal view was that there should be a mix of cinema culture with India. Our films should be shown there and their films should be shown here. It will benefit us more because the Indian cinema market is huge.’

He added that there are 150 cinemas in the country of 25 crore population. How can you promote the film industry with so few cinemas? There should be at least four thousand cinemas. The government should encourage people to set up cinema houses by giving them tax exemptions so that this industry can also grow.

Regarding the Censor Board, he said that I personally am not much in favor of censorship. The Censor Board should be under the Ministry of Arts and Culture. It should be cultured people who decide to censor.
