More than two thousand financings are available through the “Women can always” program carried out by the Economic Development Directorate, aimed at women entrepreneurs.
The head of the municipal agency, Jorge Antonio Willy Portal, reported that through the collaboration agreement between the municipal administration and Afirme Grupo Financiero, a pool of 14 million pesos is available to finance more than two thousand microcredits.
This program is aimed at women who have been carrying out an economic activity for at least six months and who are organized in groups of 12 to 15 people.
Willy Portal explained that the financing is granted for up to six thousand pesos each and is a word loan with a joint guarantee.
One of the benefits of this program is to encourage groups of beneficiaries to comply with the financing payment in a timely manner, granting them a new loan with a larger amount.
In this sense, Jorge Antonio Willy Portal pointed out that the compliance rate is almost 99 percent, which is a reflection of the responsibility that women have and why the operation of the program is positive.
He mentioned that those interested must form groups of women who know each other and who are between 21 and 75 years old, present official identification and proof of address, as well as develop a productive activity.
