From the time the “VAT Back” project was introduced in Azerbaijan until May of this year, more than 425.1 million manats were refunded to consumers registered on the relevant portal.
The State Tax Service (DVX) under the Ministry of Economy released information about this.
According to information, VAT amount of 49 million manats was returned only in January-April of this year.
“VAT refund” is one of the projects that gave an important impetus to the expansion of non-cash payments. 17.5% of the paid VAT is returned to consumers in case of non-cash payment for goods and services, and 5% in cash. The implementation of the incentive “VAT Back” project, which aims to attract citizens to cashless payments in the field of retail trade, public catering and medical services, has led to a significant increase in the specific weight of cashless payments in the mentioned sectors.
The State Tax Service continues to implement new generation cash registers in the country. Currently, the number of online NKAs applied across the country is more than 88 thousand. During the 4 months of 2023, the turnover registered through new generation cash registers was 6.7 billion manats, which is 20.1% more than the same period of the previous year.
