“Heaven has nothing to do with the death of my brother”: Carlos Darío Hernández

Through a video published on social networks, Carlos Darío Hernández, brother of Jairo Alberto Hernández Hinojosa, one of the people murdered in 2002, and in which the former first lady of Cesar, Cielo Gnecco, was involved, came out in his defense ensuring that she has nothing to do with her brother’s crime.

“When Jairo was kidnapped, I went to speak several times with alias ’39’, who demanded that I take him to Cielo Gnecco so they could release my brother. That is impossible, I am known to Cielo, we appreciate each other a lot and I can’t get there, he even asked me for money that we didn’t have. Cielo has absolutely nothing to do with my brother’s death, she is like a family member to us,” he explained.

She considers that what is happening responds to actions against her to block her in politics. “We are surprised by what is happening and we are willing to do whatever is necessary to defend her,” she said.

Last Tuesday the Prosecutor’s Office issued an arrest warrant against Cielo Gnecco, news that has caused great consternation among the people of Caesarea, many people have even spoken out in his favor, sending messages of solidarity and support.

“God and the greatness of your heart will forever be your defenders. We are with you Cielo María Gnecco,” said Congressman Eliécer Salazar.

“We send our voice of solidarity to Doña Cielo Gnecco. We trust that true and unbiased justice will declare her innocence,” said Ernesto Orozco, candidate for Mayor of Valledupar.

“It is sad to see how they pay a woman who has dedicated her life to the development of our department. It is also a lot to think about that this occurs so close to the elections. My support and best wishes for Cielo Gnecco, God grant you much strength and serenity,” she wrote in her X account, Karla Balaguera, a Caesarense.
