Ismayil Aliyev, who was accused of illegal drug trafficking, was sentenced.

Publika.az informs that the verdict was announced in the process chaired by the judge of the Baku Court of Serious Crimes, Faig Ganiyev.

According to the verdict, I. Aliyev was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

During the investigation, it was established that Ismayil Aliyev, born in 1995, was previously convicted under several articles of the Criminal Code. He met an Iranian citizen, who presented himself as “Ilyas”, who sells drugs online through the “Instagram” social network.

Knowing that he is a drug user, Ilyas offered him a job. The person named “Ilyas” contacted him and told him that he would send heroin with a large amount of drugs, that he would take the drugs and keep them, and that he would place the drugs in the area where he would mark them and send them pictures of that place at a later date, and he would pay him 500 manats in return.

Thus, in the evening of January of this year, he went to the 28th kilometer of the Baku-Kazakh highway, Garadagh district, where he found a large amount of heroin, 13 kg 68.8 grams, sent by a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran named “Ilyas” and others. He took it from its hiding place in a synthetic bag and carried it illegally.

I. Aliyev was detained on the same day as a result of search operations carried out by the staff of the Main Organized Crime Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the inspection, 13 kg 68.8 grams of narcotic heroin, which he had illegally obtained and kept on him for the purpose of sale, was found and taken away.

He was charged with articles 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code (illegally acquiring, storing, transporting, sending or selling narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances).
