The streets of Hanoi Capital on the last day of the Year of the Cat became unusually deserted, millions of people returned home to celebrate Tet or chose to rest and travel far away.
It was noted that on the last day of the Year of the Cat, right from the morning, the atmosphere was deserted and sparse traffic was evident on many roads of the Capital.
At 7am, Hue Street (Hai Ba Trung district) has 3 lanes but there is very little traffic.
The intersection of Chua Boc – Pham Ngoc Thach – Ton That Tung also became deserted both above the C-shaped overpass and the lanes below.
Just a day ago, Chua Boc Street was filled with vehicles on the sidewalks and shoppers when fashion stores here had year-end discounts, now only a few stores are open.
Truong Chinh Street (Nga Tu So intersection) is sparse, both on the elevated road and the lanes below.
Nguyen Trai Street (Thanh Xuan district) was originally a bustling place with vehicles passing by, but now it is the opposite image, strangely deserted.
The deserted image is quite strange on a route considered a hot spot for traffic congestion.
There is no more congestion and crowded traffic at the 4-storey intersection of Nguyen Trai – Khuat Duy Tien – Nguyen Xien intersection on the 30th day of Tet.
The elevated Ring Road 3 is also often congested on the days leading up to Tet, but now it is clear and cars can move easily.
Vehicles travel freely on Le Van Luong street with flags, flowers and banners celebrating the new year 2024.
Similarly at Le Van Luong underground tunnel, many times there is no traffic passing through the tunnel.
