Pfotenhilfe cared for male Maltese dogs and found loving wives
Lochen/Salzburg (OTS) – It is not known how long the Maltese male Maxi had to vegetate tied to a short rope at a house in the Braunau district. But after a report from the owner’s environment to the Pfotenhilfe animal welfare center last fall, they reported the case because keeping dogs tied up is prohibited – even temporarily. During the inspection it turned out that the dog was afraid of his owner and when he wanted to hold the shaking dog so that the official veterinarian could read the chip, Maxi snapped at his owner and was beaten for it. It was finally too much and the poor guy was confiscated and picked up by Pfotenhilfe (see also the history at https://www.ots.at/presseausversand/OTS_20231111_OTS0009).
Pfotenhilfe nursed the neglected, three-year-old dog into mental and physical health. He was not only very anxious but also had eye and ear infections and was so matted that his skin had rashes and eczema. However, the process dragged on until the beginning of February, only then could Maxi be released by the authorities and prepared for mediation. Vaccinated, dewormed, neutered and cared for, his new wife was able to take him with her from the city of Salzburg yesterday, Sunday. “I wish Maxi the best of luck in his second, better life, which begins now. Even though the dogs at our animal shelter have plenty of space and are well looked after, kept busy and given medical care – a real home where you are the center of attention is what it is something different,” says Pfotenhilfe boss Johanna Stadler happily for Maxi.
There are many more animals waiting for a new home at the Pfotenhilfe animal shelter. In particular, some of the many dogs from the official acceptance at a breeder in Gilgenberg (Braunau district) are still ready to move.
