Ismail Haniya, the head of the Hamas political bureau, blamed Israel for the lack of progress in the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners. “RIA Novosti” informs about it.

According to the leader of the movement, from the very beginning, Hamas has responded positively to the proposals of mediating countries to conclude a deal with Israel in order to “stop the aggression against the Palestinian people and lift the siege of the Gaza Strip.”

“The movement has shown full flexibility in addressing these issues, but it is clear that Israel continues to maneuver and delay the resolution of issues affecting our people, and has focused on the release of prisoners held by the resistance,” the statement said.

According to Hania, the resistance will not agree to a ceasefire until the aggression against the Gaza Strip is stopped, the Israeli army is withdrawn from there, until the siege is lifted from the Palestinian enclave, and safe havens are provided for the displaced.

He added that one of the goals of the mediated negotiations with Israel is the exchange of prisoners.
