Gold medal in the all-around for the Israeli team in artistic gymnastics at the European Cup in Baku

The Israeli artistic gymnastics team won the gold medal today (Saturday) in the all-around at the World Cup round competition, which is held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Daria Atmanov won the bronze medal in the knock-out format, which was held for the first time.

In the hoop exercise, she received a score of 38.400 points, which brought her to first place after an impressive performance. Also in the combined exercise (balls and ribbons) the team finished in first place, after achieving 35.150 points, also after an excellent performance.

In total, the team obtained 73.550 points which brought them to the first place. The Italian team came in second place with 71,700 points, and the host Azerbaijan team finished with the bronze medal with 71,550 points.

The gymnasts of the team are: Ofir Shaham (Urban Netanya), Diana Svartzov (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Hadar Friedman (Maccabi Petah Tikva), Romi Pritsky (Maccabi Tel Aviv) and Shani Beknov (Maccabi Haifa).

Unit competition: For the first time, a new format of a knockout competition between two gymnasts was held. According to the qualifiers of the rab battle that was held yesterday, it was determined who the sixteen contestants are who advance to the round of 16 and determines the internal order of the ranking for the competition. Where each time the duel is decided by the result achieved by the two gymnasts on one device that was set for the meeting in advance.

Daria Atmanov defeated the Australian Alexandra Kiroi Bogtorva in the hoop exercise in the round of 16. Atmanov received a score of 36.850 points against the Australian’s 32.550 points. In the quarterfinals, Atmanov defeated the Cypriot Vera Togolkova in the ball exercise. When she received a score of 34.550 points against the Cypriot’s 32.750 points.

In the semi-finals, Atmanov lost to Sofia Raffaelli of Italy in the club exercise, when she received a score of 33.900 points against Italy’s 34.350 points, and in the battle for the bronze medal, she defeated the Bulgarian Boroana Kaline in the ribbon exercise with a score of 32.950 points against Bulgaria’s 31.350 points.

Daniela Monitz was already eliminated in the round of 16 after receiving a score of 31.100 points in the ball exercise, while the Italian Melina Baldassari received a score of 31.950 points.
