“Our main duty is to make the elections fair”. This was stated by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev at the CEC, where the voting machines that will undergo authentication were determined by lot.
“The purpose of what you will attend is to convince yourself of the fairness of the elections. The purpose is to restore confidence in the electoral process, which will lead to higher turnout.”
According to him, the ultimate goal is to convince the voters that their vote will be counted correctly and ultimately to restore confidence in the electoral process, which will lead to an increase in the activity of Bulgarian citizens.
Glavchev refused to comment on the scandals between political forces and their impact on voter attitudes.
“Our task is to help organize elections. We do not enter into political debates, we have nothing to do with them.” pointed out the caretaker prime minister.
“I have confidence in all the ministers who are members of my team,” he concluded.
The Minister of e-Government Valentin Mundrov indicated that the process of authentication of the machines will be open, transparent and public.
“It is important to restore citizens’ trust in machine voting,” he added.
