Man Utd scored an early goal thanks to Rashford’s superb goal, but in the second half, a double from Foden and a goal from Haaland helped Man City come back to win 3-1.
Man City proactively attacked after the opening whistle of the Manchester derby. It was not difficult for the home team to approach Man Utd’s goal. A surprise happened in the 9th minute, from the away team’s quick attack, Fernandes broke the offside trap, escaped to receive the ball and then passed it back to Rashford. Man Utd’s number 10 immediately finished, the shot from the back of the cheek sent the ball high to the left, Ederson flew out of range and was unable to block it.
Unexpectedly conceding, Man City quickly responded. However, Man City’s players were both unlucky and faced with Onana’s excellent performance. In the first half, Man City missed two good opportunities to equalize. In the 19th minute, Foden comfortably faced Onana, but the winner was the Man Utd goalkeeper. In the 45th minute, Haaland kicked the ball out from 3 meters away, the front goal was very empty.
Foden did not beat Onana in the face-to-face ball.
After the break, Man City continued to maintain offensive pressure but did not make much of an impression. Suddenly in the 56th minute, Foden dribbled the ball from the left center inwards and finished, the ball went diagonally into the left corner of the goal, making Onana unable to block it, the score was equal at 1-1. Compared to Rashford’s masterpiece, Foden’s goal is not inferior.
Getting the equalizer helped Man City players play more comfortably than before. In the 80th minute, Foden bounced off the wall with Alvarez and received the ball back in the penalty area. The English player defeated Onana with a low shot to increase the score to 2-1 for Man City.

Despite being behind, Man Utd could not rise up because they were exhausted. Minute 90+1, Man City players won the ball near the penalty area, Haaland scored a goal to seal a 3-1 victory for Man City.
After round 27, Man City has 62 points, still one point behind top team Liverpool. Man Utd has 44 points, ranked 6th and has almost no chance of racing for the top 4.
