Artificial intelligence
Blessing or curse? Can total surveillance still be prevented? The EU regulates the use of artificial intelligence with strict and complicated regulations and high penalties. But AI is already in use everywhere and is considered a crucial technology for the economic future in Europe too. Florian Tursky, State Secretary for Digitalization, is a guest in the studio.
European Parliament election
In three months, 720 seats in the European Parliament will be elected. Parliamentary control should be further expanded. Although critics already see Parliament as a brake on the EU, MPs see themselves as the most important, directly elected counterweight to the EU Commission and the heads of government.
EU and Israel
The war in Gaza is putting a strain on the already difficult relations between the EU and Israel. Europe is struggling to find a common line and is continuing to lose importance and credibility in the Middle East. The European Union is Israel’s most important trading partner, and at the same time the EU has also been the largest donor to the Palestinian Authority.
