First Vitacura Flamenco Festival

Together with great dancers and musicians, for the first time, a day of tribute to the Motherland will be held in Vitacura. As part of the commemoration of ten years since the death of the Hispanic composer, Paco de Lucía, the commune will hold this festival that will bring together three national groups that are exponents of the Andalusian genre.
“We hope to bring the family together around Spanish music, which is characterized by aesthetics and rhythm. It will be a great event with outstanding artists linked to the cultivation of flamenco at the national level,” said the mayor of Vitacura, Camila Merino.
The Patio Flamenco Company will open the festival. Led by its renowned director, Paula Jacob Facuse, the group promises to take the viewer on a moving journey through dance, singing, guitar and percussion. Connecting with the audience through each chord, clap and tap is one of the group’s objectives.
The day will continue with the show “Flamanqueando” by the Apulso Company. Accompanied by traditional songs that praise the gypsy world, the group will address different styles (styles) of flamenco: alegrías, bulerías por solea and sevillanas, are some of them.
The festival will end with the presentation of the Embrujo Company. Pedro Fernández, director of the entity, will lead a show with different elements such as batas de cola, fans and shawls, typical of traditional flamenco.
The event will also have a gastronomic offer that includes shawarmas, muffins, pizzas, drinks and sangria, among others.
