Continuation of the popular ORF series written by Uli Brée

Vienna (OTS) From community housing to posh villas and from primetime TV to streaming platforms: In their first season, the “Beasts” have the ORF 1 series Monday from February 19th to March 18th, 2024 and since January 1st, 2024 ORF ON and the TVthek app – where the ten episodes are still available – has been thoroughly shaken up. But giving up is not an option for Vienna’s cheekiest girls squad, which is why Anja Pichler, Mara Romei, Fanni Schneider and Theresa Riess are already in front of the camera for the second season of the ORF series, where they first have to get used to a lot of changes. The Sunds’ money is gone, but – if you want to look at things positively – it wouldn’t do Pius (Simon Schwarz) any good in prison anyway. And he also has company behind bars, Günter Tichy (Aleksandar Petrovic) is also in prison. Due to the lack of an alternative, the mothers have also developed into a dynamic duo – Dorit Sund (Ursula Strauss) stays with Sandra Tichy (Claudia Kottal) in the community building. Meanwhile, Nelly (Fanni Schneider) is looking for her new path, sister Tiz (Theresa Riess) has already found hers, and it leads straight to the nail salon. Meanwhile, Vero (Mara Romei) continues to look after Siegfried (Wolfgang Hübsch). But whatever comes their way, the “beasts” are prepared for anything – after all, Jenny (Anja Pichler) comes up with another plan…

In addition to the “beasts” Anja Pichler, Mara Romei, Fanni Schneider and Theresa Riess as well as their series parents Ursula Strauss, Simon Schwarz, Claudia Kottal and Aleksandar Petrovic, there are also others in the ten episodes of the second season, which were again written by Uli Brée Audience favorites from the first season, but also new faces, including Anton Widauer, Doris Schretzmayer, Onur Poyraz and Safira Robens. Directed by Mirjam Unger and, for the first time, Katharina Woll. Filming in Vienna and the surrounding area is expected to last until mid-July 2024. The new episodes will be shown on ORF 1 in 2025. The first glimpses of the second season of “Beasts” were given yesterday, Thursday, April 11th, during a set visit at Vienna’s Sofitel in the presence of, among others, ORF television film director Katharina Schenk, Anja Pichler, Mara Romei, Fanni Schneider and Theresa Riess, Director Mirjam Unger, screenwriter Uli Brée and producer Oliver Auspitz.

Anja Pichler: “Search for freedom, independence, change and yourself”

“Jennifer continues to test her limits. All characters and stories get even more space in the second season and their stories continue to merge with each other. It remains very exciting and a lot of unexpected things happen that I didn’t expect at all.” For her, the “beasts” are “four young women who are looking for what they want – looking for freedom, Independence, change and yourself. The same goes for your parents.”
Mara Romei: “Boundaries between extremes are blurring”

“A lot of friendship, a variety of new love encounters and wild events await Mara Romei’s role Vero in the second season.” The audience can look forward to the fact that “you get more insight into the individual people and that very cool new characters appear that no one has ever seen before knows.” For her, the “beasts” are “very broad. A wide variety of people come together and the boundaries between extremes become blurred. Love and money are discussed, but also friendship, fear and achieving goals.”
Fanni Schneider: “new faces, new constellations”

“Nelly expects a big development. She stands more on her own two feet and opens her heart a little more.” For the audience there are “new faces, new constellations and more mixing between all four ‘beasts’.” And further: “I think it’s cool, a series to have one that takes place in Vienna, that is young – and that four young women are put in the front row.”
Theresa Riess: “two worlds that not only intersect, but that really mesh”

“Tiziana is growing up and gaining more self-confidence. Funny, but also serious and touching situations come their way.” The second season offers “a great story, in addition to comedy there is also a lot of drama and two worlds that not only intersect, but that really intertwine.” In addition, “more and more complex ones emerge Constellations between the characters. In the foreground are four cool women who do what they want, who live their lives how they want and who stick together.”

“Biester” is an ORF production made by MR-Film with the support of FISA+, Film in Austria (ABA) and Fernsehenfonds Austria.
