Father of missing soldier points to high command and local authorities

LAMBARE. Six months after the tragedy, Isabelino Sosa, the father of Sergeant Alexis Teobaldo Sosa, missing since last November, pointed out General César Moreno and the mayor of Lambaré, Guido González, as possible responsible for his son’s death.

Isabelino Sosa also questioned the work of prosecutor Gladys González, alleging that she does not consider the implications of General Moreno in the case. “That woman is our opposite, she doesn’t want us to talk to her about General Moreno, he is not guilty she tells us,” she said.

“They never found him and apparently they will never find him. We already ask you a lot to dig in the big well where we told you to be able to find him. “They know,” said the man.

Sosa asked for justice and punishment for those responsible: “We want justice and for those who founded our family to be punished. What happened to Justice in our country? it is a shame”.

Alexis’ father insisted that “General Moreno and the mayor of Lambaré are responsible for my son’s death. He is the commander, by his order my son left.” “If prosecutor Gladys González continues, our case will not move. The prosecutor must be changed for our case to move forward. “Deny and stop everything,” he finally remarked.

Sergeants Alexis Teobaldo Sosa and Domingo David Ríos Domínguez were swept away by the rapids on November 2, 2023, when they were searching for the Army commander, General César Moreno.

Ríos Domínguez’s body was found a few days after the tragic flood, while Sosa remains missing six months after the event.
