The Directorate of Health has started operations in private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers in the capital. A total of 6 clinic-diagnostic centers and blood banks were closed on the first day of the campaign. Also some institutions including Bansree Faraji Hospital have been alerted.
The Department of Health has given 10-point instructions including pulling the license at the entrance of private healthcare institutions, appointment of information officer and labor room protocol obligations. The Directorate of Health has started an operation to monitor whether the directive is being properly implemented or not.
On Tuesday (February 27) on the instructions of the director general of the health department, two teams conducted raids at various clinics and hospitals in Rampura, Mirpur and Mohammadpur police stations of the capital.

Even the doctor himself does not know that the establishment does not have a license.
Later several hospitals located in Muktijudda Tower, just opposite Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, were visited. Allegations of sharing patients from various government hospitals are found.
Although the license of these institutions was obtained, the officials of the health department found various irregularities in the environment, medical system, ICU, operation theatre. Someone made a 28-bed hospital with 20-bed approval. There is no proper waste management.
Assistant Director of the Department of Health Dr. Muhammad Billal Hossain said, we have seen a total of 12 institutions, out of which we have closed 6 institutions, the rest will be mourned. Two of the closed establishments did not have their licenses updated, while the rest had no licences. We have closed two blood banks (Radium Blood Bank and Rajdhani Blood Bank) and one hospital (TG Hospital) in Muktijoddha Tower. And I have closed Al Hakimi Eye Hospital in ECB premises. Also, I closed two institutes namely Asian Diagnostic Center and HS Dialysis and Diagnostic Center in Kalshi, they did not have license.

Under the guidance of the Director General, several of our teams visited several hospitals in Mirpur and Rampura areas. Our main aim was to monitor whether the government’s 10-point directives are properly followed or not in the management of private hospitals-clinics and diagnostic centers.
He said, we have visited few hospitals in Rampura Banshri area. I got some problems especially when I went to Faraji Hospital. We have given them a warning message to solve them. In all other such we have asked them to take immediate action for the minor issues we have found.
Before this, on February 22, the Department of Health issued 10-point new instructions including pulling the license of private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers at the entrance, appointment of information officers and labor room protocol obligations.
