Famous rapper died in the middle of a concert in Johannesburg, South Africa

After falling the first time, he gets up to continue singing and collapses again seconds later.

South African rapper Costa Titch, 28, died Saturday night after collapsing while performing at a music festival in Johannesburg, the artist’s family confirmed today.

“With deep pain we are forced to acknowledge his death at this time,” his relatives said in a statement reported by the local press.

His relatives thanked “the emergency teams and everyone who was present in his last hours on earth.”

“As a family, we are facing a difficult time as we try to understand what has happened to us and ask that we be granted time and space to come together,” they added.

In videos that have circulated on social media, Costa Titch, whose real name was Costa Tsobanoglou, can be seen singing on stage when he collapses the first time, gets up to continue singing, and collapses again seconds later.

The rapper had been in the entertainment industry as a dancer for a few years, but had recently entered the world of rap.

At the beginning of the year he had signed with the record label of the popular Senegalese-American rapper Akon with the aim of launching his career on an international scale, according to the artist himself in a recent interview.

From the Ultra Music Festival where he was performing when he died, they indicated in a statement that they were “devastated by the sudden loss of the South African artist” whom they described as “a talented rapper, dancer, songwriter, collaborator and friend.”

At the moment the reason for his death is unknown.

Costa Titch’s death comes a month after another South African rapper, 35-year-old Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known as AKA, was shot dead at a popular nightspot in the city of Durban, in eastern South Africa.
