On New Year’s Eve, people heard a loud explosion at Mr. Pham Van An’s house. Thinking the family was bursting firecrackers to celebrate Tet, when they heard cries for help, everyone discovered that all three people in the house were injured.
On the afternoon of February 10, the leader of the People’s Committee of Duc Pho town (Quang Ngai province) said that an explosion suspected to be caused by homemade fireworks in Pho Khanh commune killed 1 person and seriously injured 2 people.
At more than 11 p.m. on February 9 (New Year’s Eve), people heard a loud explosion at the house of Mr. Pham Van An (48 years old, Duc Pho town).
At first, people thought Mr. An’s family was setting off firecrackers to celebrate Tet, but when they heard cries for help, they discovered that 3 people in Mr. An’s family were seriously injured.
The victims were taken to the emergency hospital. However, Mr. An died, his wife and son were seriously injured and are being actively treated.
Receiving information, Duc Pho Town Police examined the scene and collected relevant information about the incident.
At the scene, police discovered many scattered explosive-making materials.
