Publika.az reports that this was said by the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“We are aware of the attempts to separate our country from its partners in the region, brotherly countries with very strong historical, religious, humanitarian, economic and commercial relations with various provocations. During the summer months, a campaign was launched to undermine tourism, one of Turkey’s most important sources of income. Now, with the support of the opposition parties, we see that they are trying to create a similar wave through sports.
It is no coincidence that this wave of hatred is aimed at the brotherly countries that have invested in Turkey, are by our side in difficult times, including the earthquake tragedy, and are one of our most important trade partners. There are secret operations and sabotage attempts against Turkey’s interests. Just as we destroyed the previous ugly scenarios, we will definitely destroy this game with God’s permission,” Erdogan said.
It should be noted that the “Galatasaray”-“Fenerbagh” Super Cup match scheduled to be held in Riyadh was canceled due to the ban on Atatürk’s banner and the singing of the National Anthem.
