Romero Oropeza stated that in the coming weeks “we are going to enter with regular gasoline and then with Magna.”
Due to these processes, he said that they have a few weeks left, but starting today they start using ultra-low sulfur diesel.
It was recognized that there is a lot of criticism for the time it has taken to start production at the Dos Bocas refinery, which is expected to reach 340 thousand barrels of oil, for which the general director of Pemex showed a comparative graph with other countries which, on average, he said, have taken ten years and cost 18 billion dollars.
One case is that of Jiangsu, in China, which took 12 years to build, at a cost of 18,277 million dollars, which began operations in October 2022 to produce 320,000 barrels; The case of the most expensive refinery is that of Al-Zour in Kuwait, which cost 35,154 million dollars, took 11 years to build and started in December 2022, with a capacity of 615 thousand barrels.
